As you know, I'm a casual editor now... having edited quite a bit, I just don't have time to mess with the more persistent folks editing. I wonder if there's work interviewing/talking to/etc. people who have real expertise (whatever that means) who edited and have changed their level of contribution... probably a slew of confounding things there, but it would be nice to know why people that we'd want to edit are not.
