California Applied Anthropology at AAA 2006 San Jose

Dear fellow California Applied Anthropologists,

I received a very important invitation from Dennis Wiedman, President-Elect of NAPA: National Association for the Practice of Anthropology. I have placed it on the CALPO: The California Alliance of Local Practitioner Organizations website: http://www.csufresno.edu/Anthropology/CALPO/index.htm

The AAA is taking particular interest in applied anthropology in California this year and it is up to us to get the word out. I see this as a very significant opportunity in terms of our promotion of the important role of locally applied anthropology through our LPOs.

Welcome to BAAPA!

The Bay Area Association of Practicing Anthropologists (BAAPA) is a local practitioner organization in the San Francisco Bay Area.

We meet quarterly in a casual gathering that usually includes food, socializing, and discussion. Applied researchers and activists from all anthropological subfields, both within and outside of academia, are welcome to join.

BAAPA also hosts a listserv for announcements and member communication. Please join at: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/bayareaanthros/

In the future we hope to integrate the listserv with this site. For now, please both create an account on this site and sign up for the listserv. All information you provide in your user provide is strictly confidential - we will never share it with anyone without your knowledge and consent.
